1.5 million euros in merchandise revenue in a single hour
5 August 2026
Yesterday, Barça earned over €1.5 million in a single hour selling the special El Clásico shirt, made in collaboration with Spotify and Travis Scott. A €400 limited edition shirt, worn during one of the biggest club matches in the world: El Clásico.
This isn't the first time Barça has played this smart:
- In 2022, the shirt with Drake brought in over €2.5 million
- In 2023 came The Rolling Stones, good for around €2 million
- Earlier this season it was Coldplay's turn, bringing in around €1.5 million
Just to show how exclusive these shirts are: the shirt made with American rapper Drake was released by Barcelona in 2022 for €400, and is now being resold online for €4,000.
Thanks to the global reach of El Clásico, with an average of 400 million viewers, both Barcelona and Spotify benefit enormously. The club generates millions in extra revenue, while artists on Spotify are instantly visible to hundreds of millions of fans worldwide.
What started as a shirt sponsorship with just the Spotify logo has now grown into a powerful commercial strategy and a completely new sponsorship model. The Barça shirt made in collaboration with rapper Travis Scott will be on display on 11 May at El Clásico. Smart, strategic and innovative.
